Right, so...totally anonymous, apparently. I'm taking it to be "10 Things I Want To Say To 10 People Who Will Remain Anonymous", not "10 Things I Want To Say, Anonymously, To 10 People". (There is a big difference.) I will say, though, that none of these things, good or bad, are about anyone else who posts here, because I think they already know how I feel about them. :)
10. Stop it with the drugs. I know you think that it's enhancing your creativity, but it takes more than creativity to be a good writer. It takes discipline, and you lose that when you're constantly stoned off your ass. Your work has gotten sloppy, you are on the verge of becoming irrelevant, and you would produce better stuff if you only did pot recreationally between gigs.
9. Go direct some more. You really were brilliant, and the shame about you quitting for so long isn't just that you got rusty, it's that we were denied so many potentially great movies. Go out, spend some of the billions you've accumulated on doing tiny little indie movies...they don't even need to be science fiction...and try to rediscover your joy.
8. I miss you. You died way too young.
7. I will always miss you. "Though pain may fade with time, our love for you never will."
6. You were selfish, manipulative, and if I knew then what I know now, I would have never let you treat me the way you did. I swallowed my pride and allowed myself to be made to be the bad guy because I thought it was for the good of the community and because you were a respected figure, but in the end none of that mattered because everyone saw through you anyway. They might have done it sooner if I'd stood up for myself.
5. I wish I had more time for you guys. You're still very good friends, and you always will be.
4. The best way to recapture the feel of the Silver Age isn't to slavishly imitate it; one of the best things about the era was the constant feeling that you were seeing something brand new, something nobody had ever thought of before. Bringing back Kanjar Ro and his Gamma Gong again is not going to do that.
3. You are really brilliant. You give me something to aspire to as a writer.
2. I'm sorry I don't see you more often. I'll try to visit more, I promise.
1. I love you.
